TOG Rating: The TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) rating on a garment is the unit of measurement used to calculate the thermal insulation of a product. This means garments are rated according to the warmth they provide, so the higher the TOG rating, the warmer the clothing.
TOG and Dress Guidelines:
0.2 TOG – ideal for room temperatures between 24°C and 27°C
1.0 TOG – ideal for room temperatures between 20°C and 24°C
2.5 TOG – ideal for room temperatures between 16°C and 20°C
3.5 TOG – ideal for room temperatures below 16°C
This is only a guide, and the number of clothing layers should be decided by the parents based on the room temperature and baby’s health or needs. Sleeping babies must be checked on regularly to ensure they don’t overheat.
